MATT MURDOCK Daredevil Matt Murdock is a minotaur, a lawyer, and a vigilante. He has Seen Some Shit, metaphorically speaking, since arriving to Ryslig. He spent the first month sans his powers sticking close to Foggy and hoping what people said wasn't true. It was. He got sucked into a hole in a mountain and came out with glowing yellow eyes Awesome Minotaur Powers that are similar, but different to those he had back home. (Matt can sense walls, buildings, roads and the ground beneath him, similar to his radar sense. He cannot sense people or other inanimate objects, but combined with his enhanced senses, he's able to form pretty solid pictures of his surroundings.) What Matt didn't know is that he got his hunger at that time as well. He thought he could stave it off... but he couldn't. A month later, in trying to apprehend a criminal, Matt lost control and ate him instead. The shock and horror of the event had him catatonic for several days, isolated and doubting everything he's ever stood for. However, with enough time and encouragement from his roommates, Matt has managed to come back to some sense of normalcy. Things are terrible. He has to go to the soup kitchen at least every few days (keeping his senses heightened all the time takes its toll) and he doesn't trust himself to fight crime alone again, but at least he and Foggy are studying for the Bar Exam in Bavan. They'll be certified and official soon. Small mercies. |

FOGGY NELSON Daredevil Foggy is Matt's oldest, closest and only friend from back home, here in Ryslig. Foggy is Matt's business partner and in a lot of ways, his entire world. Knowing he'll suffer the same fate as Matt has made Matt overprotective of him, which Foggy doesn't care for. Plus, Matt accidentally killing and eating guy sure didn't help the uneven ground their friendship had been in when they arrived. Despite their arguments and occasional disagreements (and Matt mother-henning Foggy at every chance,) they're the closest thing to family each other has in Ryslig, so there's no time to stay mad when things get rough. You don't leave your best friend to suffer alone in monster hell, Matt. But Matt hasn't been very good at that-- he's underestimated Foggy time and again, which put a strain on their relationship after Matt accidentally killed and ate Edward Nygma. Understandably, Foggy was upset. More than that, he was upset about being lied to, again, since Matt had insisted all month that things were totally fine. While the two have patched things up since then and Matt has promised to stop lying to his friends, it's still hard for Matt to accept that Foggy is going to go through the same painful hurdles he's faced most of his life. Matt's mission in Ryslig is to keep the streets safe, sure, but in a place as like this, his #1 mission is making sure Foggy is safe. And, you know, preferably figure out what Foggy looks like now that his skin is concrete but Foggy won't let Matt touch his face :( |

CONNOR WALSH How To Get Away With Murder Connor is a law student and Matt and Foggy's live-in intern. He and Matt spoke briefly over the network before their first meeting face to face, but that meeting also happened before Connor had accidentally killed and eaten several people so it was... tense, to say the least. Fearing the worst but sensing the honest regret in Connor's voice and actions, Matt offered to take him home to keep an eye on him. (And if he lost control again, then Matt would be the first to put him down. What a great first impression, Matt.) Matt and Foggy comforted him as best as they could, (which wasn't very well,) but they did offer Connor a job as Nelson and Murdock's intern. The work is shit, the pay is shit, but boring in a place like Ryslig can be a blessing. It certainly wasn't boring when Matt came home in tears after killing Edward Nygma. And it certainly wasn't boring when Matt's bullshit made Foggy leave and left Connor home alone to pick up the pieces. tl;dr: tons of crying and a lot of honesty later, Matt came to trust Connor and Connor in turn trusts Matt. Matt is the only person whom Connor has told about the murder of Sam Keating, as well as Rebecca's case and the ensuing chaos that happened the night of the bonfire. Fast-forward to a month or so later, Connor's mountain curse wears off and he changes "back" to the demon he was always supposed to be. While Matt couldn't see what was happening, he nonetheless held Connor through the worst of the pain and has supported him through most of his changes. Oh, and then Connor asked Matt to kill him. And he did. Yep. Fearing what his hunger could lead him to do without the magic to feed on souls, Connor saw no choice but to cash in Matt's initial threats on his life. The worst part is Matt gets it-- better to die than kill innocent people. Now if only that didn't come with so much guilt... |

NATASHA ROMANOV Marvel Cinematic Universe Natasha is a super spy and an Avenger, someone Matt would never have imagined he'd ever meet face-to-face. Her role in the attempted Chitauri invasion of New York may have soured Matt's perceptions of her somewhat at first, but their casual and flirtatious interactions since then have all but smoothed over any irritation Matt may have felt towards her for that. She plays nice, agreed to mess with Foggy when Matt presented the opportunity to her and even seems to work well as a private investigator (Matt and Foggy should probably hire her someday, seriously.) Either way, she's the type who's always known that there was more to Matt than meets the eye, and he's fine with that. She's a superhero, she understands. She's offered her support when Matt has struggled with having to kill in Ryslig, and though he knows she shares no such qualms, he feels at ease discussing these things with her. Maybe it's the flirting. Either way, she was kind enough to take him out for drinks after Matt killed Connor, which led to Matt pretty much telling her his life story and admitting that yeah, maybe he's kind of a superhero. But it's okay, he's among friends. |

OLIVER HAMPTON How To Get Away With Murder Oliver is Connor's boyfriend, or he was until late December. When he first arrived, he stayed with Matt, Foggy and Connor in their apartment. Unfortunately, things quickly grew tense between him and Connor, as Oliver simply couldn't adjust to having different memories from his boyfriend, nevermind learning that Connor had been involved with a murder cover-up back home. Oh, and I mean Connor was a plant monster, too. It was too much. They needed space. Matt and Oliver got on fine while he lived with them, but after two months of being roommates with Connor, Matt was obviously going to take Connor's side in their issues. And well, he did. Matt killed Connor at his own request-- and Oliver was pissed. Understandably so. Fueled by rage and shade-powered vengeance, Oliver tried to kill Matt while Connor was still dead. His attempt failed pretty spectacularly, but the damage was done. Matt may believe that the attack happened partly because of Oliver's changes, but it's clear that Oliver will never forgive Matt for killing Connor. Matt's fine with that: he'll never forgive himself for it either. |
